I have a customer who’s inquiring about increasing the Inventory Segmented key from 30 to 45 characters.I’ve asked for the reasoning behind this and will see if using Inventory Subitems might be a solution.But, I’d like to know if increasing the length can be done and if so, are there negative repercussions throughout the system (other then display issues due to length on reports and/or screens)?Thanks!
My client produces items for customers that are always custom made with sales order lines linked to production. They use FIFO as their costing method. In order to ensure that sales are properly matched to cost of sales, what is the best way to set up the manufactured items? Should finished goods be lot tracked using specific costing method?If this is correct, how should the lot class be setup? I think the assignment method should be when received, using an auto generated number. What would the assignment method be to ensure that the costs are following the correct sales order and not require the shipping department to select the lot number? Will the lot number from production be automatically assigned to the issue transaction on the sales order?
I am trying to update the Required Date Column through and import scenario. I keep getting error Error: 1 items have not been processed successfully. View name: Document. I have tried deleting and readding everything from scratch. I thought this was going to be something simple but Im missing something. Not sure what its adding in that paramter or why I cant just specifcy the keys on the POline table and the date and call it good.

Hello, Something interesting we recently noticed is that it appears that Sales Quotes that are in the ‘Approved’ status do NOT move into ‘Converted’ status when ‘Convert to Sales Order’ is used as an action. Screenshot below is to reference the field of a quote we had converted to a Sales Order. At first, I thought this was an error or maybe a customization gone awry. But we do not have any customizations that modify the workflow of the Sales Quote screen, and on checking the default diagram, it appears that this is really the case. Screenshot of the default workflow diagram is below. I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this before and what the rationale might be for this. Wouldn’t it be a natural transition for a quote that’s been ‘approved’ to then be converted to an order, and in turn updating the original quote status to ‘Converted’? I also just wanted to verify that this is the case for others as well.

Hello!This is kind of an odd question, I was hoping someone might have an idea. Our Operations team has cages full of inventory that they send to a configuration center.Our Ops manager wants to use the cages as an asset and have inventory assigned to it as a location, while being able to change the location of the asset… if that makes sense.My boss suggested using the asset Module, which I am not to familiar with.Would you recommend the Asset Module, or a different way of doing this? If you recommend the Asset Module, do you have somewhere to point me by chance that will explain it a little better to use it in the manner we need? Thanks for your thoughts!
How to create new controls on form dinamicaly? I have a custom screen in which columns are automatically generated in the grid when I select the desired GI in the "Inquiry title" selector. I take them from the GI screen and everything works fine. Now I want to take the parameters from this tab and the parameters on the GI screen and dynamically make these selectors from the code, which would be identical when you click view unquiry on the SM208000 page. How to do it from the code? Because the parameters can change depending on the selected GI. Take a look at the attached files

The Sync History screen is the only place I know where to do this?I know how to do it one at a time. Hoping an Import Scenario can be made.I’ve tried a bunch of different combos for this. We would like to offer a discount on 2 or more of an identical item in a certain price class.What we want to do is have a discount of $1 per extra item applied when the customer orders 2 or more of any item in a specified price class. We do not want it to apply if the customer orders 1 of one item in the price class and 1 of another, it has to be more of the same item. Is this possible and if so, how would I go about setting it up?I have set up a discount code for a price class where 2 or more of the item will trigger a discount of $1 but it only does it once. We would want each additional item to trigger a $1 discount. Thanks for any advice, Phil
I believe the current integration does not allow this, but want to confirm. Often times the Customer drop ships the items for service to the customer and then sends a tech out to apply the service. They want to record the shipment and see the cost in the profitability of the Service Order. It seems based on other knowledge based entries you currently can only ship from the Sales order, which doesn’t accumulate cost on the Service Order. If you place the items on the Service Order/Appointment, the items are allocated in inventory but not relieved which isn’t exactly correct (unless I’m missing something). Is there another way to do this?
