Ability to set a Default Value for Attributes

Having empty attribute values can be very problematic.  It would be nice if there was a way to set the default value of an Attribute so before a user updates it, it can have a value and be present on the CSAnswers table.

The UDFs currently are not usable with grouping in Generic inquiries, which makes their utility very limited compared to attributes.

Will UDFs have the same functionality and be usable with GI grouping when the attributes will be depreciated?

    Thank you for your idea.

As it was announced on Summit 2020, we're deprecating Attributes in favor of User-Defined Fields.

But for User-Defined Fields, we definitely consider an ability to set default values.

Agreed, would really appreciate if this were possible - it would allow us to set some defaults when new contacts are created. Especially helpful when we create contacts via the Outlook add-in. If you create them that way it's an extra few clicks to then View the saved contact and navigate to the Attributes area to populate the fields.
