Push Notifications for Customer Portal Orders

I'm struggling to understand how to know when a customer has placed an order online.  There is no functionality for an email to be generated with a notification.  We wanted to setup a computer monitor with a dashboard that shows New, Open orders, but dashboards don't automatically refresh and without activity, the browser session times out.

Notifications should be pushed instead of having users constantly check for new orders....

In Acumatica 2018 R1, we released advanced notifications using business events.

Using this feature you can write a generic inquiry containing sales orders received from an online source. Next, you create a business event that is triggered by a record change. Within the trigger conditions, monitor for when a record is inserted. More information on business events is available in this blog article: https://www.acumatica.com/blog/technical-tuesday-use-business-events-acumatica-automate-processes/

Be careful though ... if 100 new orders come in ... people will receive 100 emails.
