Ability to budget hours by project task and employee, with a report on planned vs actual

Dear partners and customers,

We need your feedback on whether this idea makes sense to you, and whether you are aware of a real business need to have this functionality supported in the system. It would be helpful if you can share examples of user scenarios that should be supported with regard to this feature.

Your input helps us prioritizing requests in the backlog. Thank you.

Workaround for budgeting hours by employee: create a unique non-stock labor item for each employee and set the budget for each non-stock item. This is not elegant, but can solve needs in situations where there are limited employees.

I would not expect most companies to budget by employee.  Hours by Task over/under would allow a PM to swap employees in/out and not worry about one employee having zero budget hours and 6 actual hours.  If the task had 6 hours on it then it would be right on budget despite the fact that employee B worked on it instead of employee A

We budget our projects by employee on all implementations.  Having this feature in Acumatica would be helpful.  Without this level of budget you can run into a situation where some employees or subcontractors use hours beyond their budget leaving other team members short on hours.  Without this level of budgeting, team members do not have easy visibility into hours used and remaining for their tasks. Our current work around is to create Project Tasks by Employee.  This adds a lot of overhead into the setup process and does not scale.

Great idea to have this as an option.   I have a client with 60 persons provide professional services.   Although they don't want to actual budget by employee, they want to be able to report by employees.   And ARM reporting does not provide that functionality.   So I vote for both budget by employee and reporting by employee.
