I'm not a fan of the way Branches work with data entry in Acumatica. The confusing part in my opinion is the Branch drop-down on the top of the screens.
Here are two ideas to make it better:
1. Move the current Branch drop-down up next to the Business Date. Why, because it's current location makes it "feel" like you are switching between Branches when, in fact, all you are doing is setting a default value for any new transactions. Which is exactly what the Business Date is, a default value for new transactions. Putting both fields next to each other would signal to the user that they both behave the same way.
2. Move the current Branch fields off of the FINANCIAL DETAILS tab and move them above the Date field for every screen in the system. Branch is an important field and should be more prominently displayed, not hidden on another tab. It's the first important decision that you make on a transaction which is why I think it should be above the Date field. There are a lot of screens that would need to be modified, so I don't know if this would ever happen, but I think it would make sense.
