Dynamic GI caption by allowing formulas.

Allow use of formulas in a GI caption in order to make the caption dynamic.

Example: A month over month sales report for the current and last 2 months, i would like the column names to dynamically be named the actual month names and not "Current"," previous month " and "2 months ago".

Ultimately this would be a good feature for the dashboard widgets. Using above GI, you can create a column chart showing clear labels on the dashboard.

    Hi Ellie,

Could you please attach an example of such GI in XML?

For dashboards, it is already possible to create a similar configuration:

    1. Create a GI with a plain data, add two filter fields: Start Date and End Date
    2. Create a chart widget based on that GI
    3. Set Start Date and End Date in Inquiry Parameters form to @ThisMonth-3 and @ThisMonth
    4. Set Date as a category field with Date Rounding = Month (or use Fin Period field, if needed)

The Dashboard widget per your instructions works well, Thanks.

Regarding the GI, is there currently a way to get the same result as in the widget- where the header will be dynamic per month?

Not sure what GI i can set up here that will help, it would just be sales with 4 column, 1 column with customer name and the other 3 would be sales for each of the previous months.
