Ability to upload financial period outside of date range into project transaction screen

After some back and forth with Acumatica support, I am told that one cannot upload a financial period outside the date range into the project transaction screen.

Support: "The program wants to default the Financial Period that corresponds to the date.  This is how the system is designed.  So you will need to change the dates"

The ability to upload a financial period outside the date range is needed for my clients who need to move historical costs from one project to another while retaining the original transaction date into the current period.

I went into the SalesDemo 2018 R2 and it works. Then, I went into SalesDemo 2018 R1 and it does not work. Thank you. I will work with this knowledge.

I was able to manually enter a transaction into the Project Transactions screen. The system gave warning, but allowed me to release the transaction. I also used an Excel spreadsheet to import several lines into the PM.30.40.00 screen and I was allowed to do it.

This was using SalesDemo with 2018 R2. It's possible that the period that you were trying to post to was closed. I would also recommend entering the date first, then entering the period afterwards.
