Enforce security on subaccount restriction data viewing to ARM and report designer reports

Most accounting systems have the ability to restrict data views globally within the system.  We have multiple clients wanting to let users into the system to run P&Ls for their respective subaccounts using ARM most often.  Restricting access to subaccounts without including reporting brings little value in this circumstance.

When a restricted individual runs ARM reports - yes, they are restricted to their view.  If they drill into the report to the point where they are seeing the account details screen and select to drill into the batch, the user can see more than their restricted subaccounts (otherwise you would have to deny access to the JE screen to further restrict their view).  Fundamentally, if you restrict access to a subaccount for a user, it should apply to ARM, GL details, generic inquires, dashboards and Velixo.  I haven't tested in 2019 R2 yet - does anyone know if it works this way?

Could you please explain what you exactly mean by"without including reporting"?

ARM reports respect restriction groups, so if you restricted the access to subaccounts using restriction groups, you won't see the data for these subaccounts in all financial statements.

We have a few very large clients using restriction groups at subaccount level for their reporting with Velixo Reports for Acumatica. It's an Excel-based financial reporting tool that brings the power of ARM to Excel, check it out at

I think you can apply restriction groups on the report definition screen.
