Pivot Table Dates by Fiscal Year

Our companies fiscal year is different than the calendar year. Can there be a way where you can choose the formatting of the year date - either calendar year or fiscal year to be able to run pivot tables for sales reports?

Initially this sounds a good idea.

One problem relates to being able to change the financial period after you enter a date.  e.g.  you enter the date as 26th Feb, the fiscal period defaults to 02-20XX, but because this is a backdated transaction, the financial period may be closed, so you change the fiscal period to 03-20XX.

This is not really a problem in Pivot Tables.  Include the Fiscal Year in the Generic Inquiry, and include the Name of the Period rather than just the name.  You can also create derived naming conventions to incorporate in the Pivot Table.
