Allow sales orders and quotes created through the sales order form to be linked to opportunities

Currently the only way to connect a sales order or quote to an opportunity is to add the items to the opportunity, then create a sales order or quote from the opportunity. If an order or quote is created independently, through the sales order form, there is no way to connect that order or quote to the original opportunity. 

 

In order to track the effectiveness of sales efforts, it would be helpful to be able link sales orders and quotes back to opportunities even if they are created through the sales orders form.

    This is essential functionality, I hope this get's seriously concidered and added soon, every Demo and client using oportunities asks for this feature.

    This! I've had multiple clients ask why the sales quote is not referenced anywhere on the sales order. Linking the two together isn't as easy as it should be either. If a quote is created in CRM and converted to an order that should seamlessly link opportunity-quote-order-invoice without jumping through hoops.

    I am getting our Sales Team on board with the full quote to cash cyle of Opportunities to Quote to Sales Orders.  The sales team loves the fact they can see from the opportunity to quote to Sales Order.  However, my fullfillment team is frustrated because they cannot go quickly back to the quote or opportunity to review items.  This would be a HUGE communication advantage for our team.  

     

    Acumatica did this well on projects, getting this on to Sales Orders would be fantastic.

    I run into this requirement during the sales process.  Prospects do not understand why this would not be an out of the box feature if Acumatica is one integrated solution.   In addition, some customers want to see availability when completing quotes so they can push the customer to buy now, or alert purchasing of the requirements.

    I have customers who are very frustrated at not being able to link opportunity activity to sales orders.

    A basic sales metric is conversion rate: how many opportunities have been converted to sales orders. And, while the sales order is actually visible on the opportunity itself (it has it's own tab), there is no way to easily link the 2 records together in a generic inquiry.

    May I kindly ask you, if you create SO/ QT and send it from the opportunity, does the system logs the emails under opportunity's activities? Customers are interested in having this functionality as they should be sure that quotes/ orders were sent and what is the email text.. Thank you.
