Lookup Field Descriptions Too Short in 2019 R1

Why did descriptions for lookup fields get shorter in Acumatica 2019 R1? I'm noticing it for Customers, Vendors, Items, etc.

This is how an Item Lookup description displayed in Acumatica 2018 R2:

And this is how an Item Lookup description displays in Acumatica 2019 R1:

You can see that the description gets cut-off.

Was this intentional? It would be nice to have the full descriptions back in a future Acumatica 2019 R1 build.

Unfortunately, it cannot be customized. We planned this item to be fixed soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Vladimir,

This came up again, this time for a different client. The tooltip idea is good, but it still would be preferred to see the entire description without having to touch the mouse.

Is there a code snippet that you could include here showing me how to customize the field to display like the 2018 R2 screenshot above?

Looking for the full descriptions back as well - the 2019R1 formatting has been a problem for our team

A tooltip won't work for the Customer that I'm working with unfortunately. The list of possibilities is too long to have to hover over every possibility to find the right one.

    Hi Vladimir,

unfortunately, the suggestion you made won't work for one of our Customers.

We are getting complaints from end-users who find the new behavior being very problematic. Almost all item descriptions Client has are pretty long and contain important information at the very end. See the attached file.

It would be great to have this fixed.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Tim,

    Thank you for the feedback.

Yes, it was intentional (it fixed a lot of rendering glitches), but we'd like to improve the user experience.

The main issue here (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that you can't see which part of the text matches the search phrase, isn't it? A suggested option is to show the full description with the matched part in a tooltip that appears when you hold the focus on an item longer than 2 seconds (or if it is the only item found).

Would it be OK for you?

    Hi Tim

It can use a JS to read full description in browser.
