Asset Number per Asset Class

It would be beneficial if customer could setup Auto Asset Numbering sequentially per Asset Class.

e.g. FA_V_0001; FA_V_0002 etc (Fixed Assets Vehicles)

and FA_F_0001; FA_F_0002 etc (Furniture)

So it then shows auditors completeness in sequence per asset class.

I realise that currently a unique asset tag id is created across all asset classes (which could prove sequencing)... and its cumbersome to show gaps in number sequences when looking at an asset class.

Kind regards

It's interesting that we can have different numbering for document types:

Invoices, Credit memo's, Debit memo's etc. But we cannot have different number for asset classes/groups/categories?!

    Dear Jeanne-Pierre,

After review, we recommend implementing this idea as a customization due to the specific nature of the request. The business process described is too narrow to be considered as a core enhancement to the product.

    Best regards,
