Scenario: The customer has 20,000 inventory items located in thousands of bin locations within a warehouse. The items stored in each bin location may change based on season, product demand and other variables. Picking by bin location priority becomes impossible to maintain and/or manage.
Issue: With the current priority picking methods, the warehouse staff will be directed to multiple locations where the full amount of stock to fill the shipment may or may not exist.
Solution: Add the ability to designate bin location picking priority (current feature) in conjunction with the quantity available in the bin locations. The options can be to (1) Pick by Highest Qty Available or (2) Pick by Lowest Qty Available. Users could only select one of the two quantity picking options.
Option #1: Pick by Highest Qty Available - the bin location would be designated as the bin location with the most stock available.
Option #2: Pick by Lowest Qty Available - the bin location would be designated as the bin location with the least amount of stock available.
Options #3: Combined Pick Priority and Either Low or High Stock - the bin location is designated in two tiers, first by Qty Available (high or low - can only pick one per warehouse) and Bin Location Pick Priority.
