Implement a gridded/matrix inventory system

To assist us with the take on of apparel companies, we need Acumatica to have a gridded inventory system.
Firstly, you need to allow more than one segment structure. You need to be able to have a mix of Style/Colour or Style/Colour/Size or Style/Size. This could possibly be stored at item class level. Subitems aren't sufficient as you need to store attributes against each item combination like barcode, price, commodity codes etc.
Secondly, you need to apply some kind of security around the visibility. Rather than having a full list of segment values, it needs to be applicable to the parent. For example, Style A has sizes 1 - 10 and Style B has sizes 1-12. Shouldn't see 11 and 12 as options for Style A.
Thirdly, you need an Auto Create Item From Style function. Select a style, tick the boxes (in gridded format) for the sizes and colours you want and then hit Process. It creates all the item codes with the default attributes from the class for you. Saving hours of manual entry!
Finally, gridded order entry. See attached spec.
Most likely, it needs to support 2 or 3 segment codes per structure. I've seen it used with 4 segment codes but anything above that is probably going to get messy in the UI.

I think subitems is supposed to accomplish this.
