Better Error Repoting in Report Designer

RD is horrible for error reporting.  It gives no clue where the error is.  It does little or no validation in RD itself.  You have to wait to run the report for it to blow up.  This is a perfect example.  How  the heck can you debug this?

Sorry for the late answer and thank you very much for your feedback.

As you may know, now we have the preview, and it validates the SQL statements, but it will show you the same error message. We will try to improve it in the future.

As long as the preview validates the SQL statements RD generates.

I think this idea also goes hand in hand with the ability to preview reports - would help to quickly try things when making changes to reports.
