Create a Date field on the Physical Inventory Review (IN305000) screen

Create a Date field on the Physical Inventory Review (IN305000) screen so you don't have to set the business date. This would allow you to choose the date that you want the physical inventory adjustment batch to be posted on and save the batch with the date being preserved with the batch rather than lost.

This is especially useful when you make a decision on a posting date and want to save the batch, but might not post the batch until several days or weeks later. Currently, your Business Date will reset to the current date the next time you login to Acumatica so the physical inventory batch won't remember the posting date that you decided on while it's in a pending state.

I have had the exact same question from a few clients!

From a product standpoint, in pretty much every screen, the Business Date simply defaults an existing date value that is on the screen. In the Physical Inventory Review (IN305000) screen, the only date field is the Freeze Date field. So it's very rational that a user would expect the adjustment batch to use that date. But it doesn't which is totally unexpected behavior.

From a business perspective, you typically count inventory near the end of the period. Let's say you freeze everything for counting on May 31st. Then it takes a couple of weeks to confirm counts and reconcile discrepancies. By the time you are ready to click the COMPLETE PI button, maybe it's June 15th.

So you click the COMPLETE PI button and very reasonably expect the adjustment batch to get generated with a May 31st date. But instead it uses the June 15th date which is really weird.

There really should be another date field, maybe called Adjustment Date, underneath the Freeze Date field on the Physical Inventory Review (IN305000) screen. And that date, not the Business Date, should be used for the Adjustment Batch that gets created when you click the COMPLETE PI button.

    At least, that's my opinion.

Thank you for submitting your idea. Please provide additional information (specific use cases, business scenarios) so we can evaluate how this will benefit to Acumatica customers. It is not clear enough why posting with the date in the past is needed if the User decided to postpone the posting after inventory count.
